Seriously, you guys!
My apartment is upside down from packing and
preparing for a yard sale that we're hoping to sell pretty
much everything we own in.  The internet hasn't worked
at my apartment complex in a week. And I've been trying
to get as much time in with friends and family before we
say goodbye to Kentucky.  Fingers crossed, posting will
be more regular from me next week and I have some
fabulous bloggers lined up to keep you company during
my actual move.  More details to come.  Please
just bear with me! :)

Guest Post: Simply Whit in a Sequined LIfe

Hey everyone!  I hope you all had a
wonderful weekend and are excited about the
week ahead!  I'm super ready for Thursday to arrive
because Tyler, Ricky, and I will be heading to Virginia
to visit our best friend's Jared & Mary, and then on
to visit the most magical city ever - NYC!  It will
be Tyler's first visit and I can't wait to show
him what all the fuss is about! ;)

So today, I'm thrilled to be guest posting
for my fabulous fellow Lexington blogger, Whitley,
the teaser above, then be sure to head over to her blog
to see the full outfit photos and get all the details!

I love this t-shirt so stinking much.
I bought it for Tyler a while back but, honestly, I think I get
much more wear out of it than he does.  It just goes with everything.
I loved pairing it with my new comfy skirt that I picked up at Target
recently.  It's such a great, versatile print that I know I'll be remixing
all Spring and Summer long.  I'm definitely on the hunt for more
skirts this season.  If you have any recommendations be
sure to leave them in the comments below!!

Have a wonderful week guys!!

This colorful tweed skirt practically jumped into my hands
while shopping at Target last week.  I know I'm supposed to be cutting
back on my shopping, but this skirt was just destined to be a part of my Easter
look!  I just love it and can already think of a million other ways to style
it!  Now, if the weather will just stay warm enough..!

Friday's Fancies: Lace Love

Lace Love on Opal & Violet

Dress // Earrings // Handbag // Shoes

I'm headed out of town to a fun gender reveal party this weekend!
The parents-to-be have instructed us to dress in the color we think the
gender will be.  To be honest, I don't feel strongly either way but 'boy' just
seems to be lingering in the back of my mind.  So my outfit today is what I'd
love to wear to the party - a blue dress to show my suspicions of it being a
boy but with pops of pink to display my hesitations.

Today's outfit also fits in with our lovely lace theme for this week's
Friday's Fancies!  Lace will be a huge part of our Spring and Summer
wardrobes again this year so I'm so excited to be celebrating it again!  [In
case you missed it, I used a gorgeous green lace dress here for another
Friday's Fancies and wore a great black lace dress here
when I was 'wedding crashing'.]

Be sure to check out all of the other lace inspired
outfits on Long Distance Loving!

Have an amazing weekend!!

I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day yesterday!
Since this holiday happened to fall on a weekday this year, I trust that
many of you will be choosing to celebrate with dinners and dates this weekend. If so, there is no need to get in a tizzy about what to wear because this week for Friday's Fancies we're putting together fun outfits in the red and pink theme that will be perfect for your day!  I couldn't help but design my post around some fabulous dresses.  I'm a huge fan of dresses but have been in a bit of a rut with them for the last several months.  So in honor of Valentine's Day, dresses and the upcoming Spring season, I've put together my dream dress collection.  Go ahead, be inspired.
 I know I am!

Oh - if you're still in need of gifts to exchange on your dates this weekend, you can check out my gift guides: FOR HER & FOR HIM.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

I wanted to make an effort to include some Valentine hues
into each of my looks this week.  Yesterday I went for a subtle approach by adding
just a couple pops of fuchsia on my nails and lips - two of my favorite places to add color!  Adding green gave the look a slightly preppy vibe and then I added in my favorite color combo - black & white -  to keep the whole look balanced.  I know it's a little early, but
this outfit is essentially an outfit meant for transitioning into Spring.  I'm so ready
for the warmer weather!  Is anyone else with me?

Valentine's Day Gift Guide: FOR HER

Valentine's Day Gift Ideas on Opal & Violet

I have to start this out by saying I love Valentine's Day.
I completely understand that it's not for everyone but I think it's so sweet
to have a day to celebrate love.  I'm sure there were years in my singleness
that I felt differently, but as I've gotten older I've decided that there are so many
people in our lives that deserve to have their love celebrated than just those that
we might be in a relationship with.  So yes, I love love. And with that being said,
think it's a great idea to show a little token of our love through gifts. Here are
few of my picks for the ladies!  While my hubs and I have taken a different route
for our gifts this year (we bought ourselves tickets to 2 summer concerts: She
& Him and Fall Out Boy) these are the items that I would have loved to have
received! Check back on Wednesday to see my top picks for the guys!

I love adding a few girly accessories to an otherwise
simple (yet so cozy!) outfit.  My new pearl ring fits in so well
with my necklace that I've had forever and my pear earrings that I
wore in my wedding.  And how about my sweet hair bow that was
handmade by my blogging friend Star from Beauty & Bows?!  She is so
talented!!  Be sure to check back here tomorrow for a fabulous
giveaway from her!  Hint: there will definitely be bows!!

Friday's Fancies: Outfit Crush

Today for Friday's Fancies we're coming up with a fabulous
look inspired by an outfit crush we are just smitten with.  Well, it took me
a whole 5 seconds to decide mine would be a look from Annie over at The
Other Side of Gray.  Honestly, I could have picked any of her looks out of a hat
and been just as thrilled to recreate it.  But in my attempt to wear
more pink this year, I chose this gorgeous ensemble.

Outfit Crush

Coat // Chambray // Jeans // Tee // Boots // Bag // Necklace // Lips

I'm always a big fan of layering and this outfit is basically
layering perfection.  Annie has impeccable style so I highly recommend you
pop over to The Other Side of Gray and see for yourself!  I haven't really been
shopping much in the last couple of weeks but I'm thinking that might have to
change with the purchase of some new pink accessories - Annie style!

Have a wonderful weekend!!

While putting together this blog post, I made a very exciting discovery!
My favorite watch - the Michael Kors Parker - now comes with a gold face &
navy leather band combo!! Seriously, it's gorgeous!! See for yourself here!
Prepare to fall in love!  I'm adding it to my current wish list immediately!!

So back to today's outfit! ;)
I've been waiting for the perfect time to break out my new Merona
pencil skirt that I picked up at Target just before Christmas.  It features
what is clearly a favorite color combo of mine at the moment - navy & gold.
With the gold flecks in that skirt, there was no stopping me from adding
it to my skirt collection.  Actually, I've been rebuilding my skirt collection
lately.  I love skirts but had a lot of outdated styles/fits so I donated most
of them to Goodwill last year.  I went a while before I even started buying
them again but now I'm trying to make up for lost time!
 The more skirts the better!

I'm linking up with the Followers to Friends Blog Party today!!
