Fall Uniform [& New Blog Design!]

My hair looks so crazy in these photos, guys!  I ran out of hairspray.  Seriously.

Hey guys!! I'm am SO EXCITED to officially debut my new blog design today! I've been working with the incredible Tiffany Kuehl for the last week to create this new branding and I am so proud of our finished product! You'll notice the new design throughout each of my social media pages and even on my new business cards that I just ordered over the weekend [I'm sure I'll Instagram them as soon as they come in]!! Ahhh!! I'm obsessed! This change was long overdue and I'm so happy that I finally pulled the trigger on it and chose Tiffany to do it!  She came super highly recommended to me from Whitley and I am so pleased to be able to say that I, too, highly recommend her!  She was so incredibly sweet, so attentive to my requests/indecisiveness, & such a hard worker! If you need a facelift for your brand, then you definitely need to check out Tiffany Kuehl Designs

Today's outfit is all about showing you my go-to Fall uniform.  You saw me wear this great Loft skirt in this post and it clearly didn't stop there. The last few weeks I've been mixing and matching the great Fall skirts and tops that I hauled here with different shoes/boots, necklaces, and scarves.  They've been the perfect pieces for the perfect Fall weather [aside from the few random 80 degree days we had a week back!] here in NYC. Oh, and outfit tip of the day: mix black and brown!  It creates such a rich look and, if you feel a little uncomfortable doing it, just add a great leopard accessory to pull both colors together.

I hope you all are having an incredible Monday!

If you follow me on Instagram, you caught a little glimpse of this outfit last week.  I've been so excited to pick up a new denim jacket and it's already been just the perfect piece to keep all of my Fall looks easy and casual.  Here I've worn it layered over a sweater with that sparkly Brina Box necklace that I am completely obsessed with.  You can definitely expect to see me styling it like this again and again!

Working on the Weekend

Forever 21 rings

Hey guys!  I hope you all had a fantastic weekend!!  Last week for Friday's Fancies I put together a classic Fall work wear look for you, styled around the idea of some of the new Fall pieces in my own closet.  As it turns out, I worked a bridal show here in Manhattan over the weekend and decided that it was the perfect time to photograph one of my own work wear looks for you!  These Loft pieces are seriously the answer to all my Fall fashion problems.  A few simple and classic items, in Fall appropriate colors, mix and match to form one great outfit after another.  Oh, and this Brina Box necklace.. I'm literally obsessed.  Be prepared for me to wear it nearly every single day this Fall. Sorry, I'm not sorry!

Also, in case you missed me explaining things in my Haul video last week, I'm not wearing my wedding ring right now because I lost a diamond!  I know, I know!  I'm super bummed about it!  But, thankfully, the warranty completely covers it so it's off being replaced right now.  I can't wait to have it back this week!

Summer to Fall

Cole Haan shoes (similar)

Photographed by: Ricky Strong

I know I made the claim a few weeks ago that this dress was the perfect LBD for Summer, however, I'm now starting to think that it may just be perfect for Fall, too!  Layered with my new denim Uniqlo shirt, this dress transitions perfectly for the cooler weather that's hit.  And can I just say, NYC is so lovely right now.  I'm pretty sure I could deal with this amazing weather forever!

I wore this outfit over the weekend to get in a little shopping.  Maybe I was inspired by my Fall Wish List from Friday's post, but I just couldn't let any more time go by without picking up a few new pretties!  Look for a haul video to come later this week featuring all of my finds! Oh, and let me just add that I'm crazy in love with my new necklace from Brina Box!  If you don't already, be sure to follow their Instagram - they often post there about their daily deals which is how I scored this pretty for about $20 including shipping!

Seriously, you guys!
My apartment is upside down from packing and
preparing for a yard sale that we're hoping to sell pretty
much everything we own in.  The internet hasn't worked
at my apartment complex in a week. And I've been trying
to get as much time in with friends and family before we
say goodbye to Kentucky.  Fingers crossed, posting will
be more regular from me next week and I have some
fabulous bloggers lined up to keep you company during
my actual move.  More details to come.  Please
just bear with me! :)

I love to find great clothes at unexpected places.
This Kmart top was about $4 and such an easy piece to
add a little texture and style to a simple outfit.  I've been
hearing some people say they've found some cute items
there recently so I'm definitely making it a mission to go
check out the current selection asap!  Do you have any
tips for some great unexpected clothing shops?

If you caught yesterday's post, you know that I'm
searching for the perfect new dresses to refresh my wardrobe.
This Loft dress is my most recent purchase and I'm a little obsessed
with it!  We all know a LBD is incredibly versatile and this one has
already proven to be the perfect one to get me through the rest of
these Summer months!  It can be dressed up or down so easily
that it will definitely solve the many wardrobe dilemmas
to come.  The best part?  It's on sale now!!

If you follow me in Instagram then you've captured a little
glimpse into my busy last few days.  Lots of traveling and events
have unfortunately kept me from getting you some real outfit photos
for you. I hope this blurry iPhone pic from yesterday will get us
through until my life slows down!  Until then, here's a little
recap of my busy last few days!

Thursday 6.27: Dinner with Chioma from
in a Sequined Life!   I just loved spending time with these
fabulous Lexington girls!  I really think we could've
talked fashion and blogging all night long!

Friday 6.28: My BFF's Birthday!  Ricky turned
28 and once I got off work we headed out to watch
Man of Steel.  While it wasn't my favorite superhero
movie by any means, but it was definitely a great
movie!  I totally recommend checking it out!

Saturday 6.29: Fall Out Boy!  Tyler and I
took Ricky on a little weekend getaway to Indy
for a FOB concert!  They really put on a fantastic
show!  Tyler counted this concert as his 14th time
seeing them (just mine and Ricky's 2nd!) and he
thinks it was the best they've ever sounded!

Sunday 6.30: Travel!  We had a very
leisurely Sunday so after a late breakfast we picked
up a few can'tlivewithout pieces at Loft and H&M
before we hit the road.  Our trip home was not complete
until we made a trip by the J.Crew Factory store in
Edinburgh and *gasp* I didn't buy anything!  I
promise I'm trying really hard to be good!

Monday 7.1: Pageant!  I traveled to
Lincoln County, Kentucky to help/support my
friend Hailey in her pageant and I'm happy to report
that she brought home the crown!  The photo above
is my outfit from the pageant featuring my new Loft
skirt and H&M hat.  Yes, you're going to be seeing
a LOT of that hat. Sorry in advance! ;)

Now to catch up on all the laundry!
Hope you're all having a wonderful week!!

First of all - please excuse the scowl on my face! The sun was super cray
and it didn't leave me much choice since I left my trusty Ray-Bans at home!
I know you've been hearing it a lot from me recently, but I'm super obsessed
with skirts right now.  I mean, I just can't get enough!  If I'm not searching online
for my next perfect one then I'm totally drooling on ones seen on other bloggers
(you should check out my friend Chioma's skirts - they're seriously amazing and
lots of them are gorgeous thrifted pieces!).  This pleated floral number (that I
showed a little teaser of on my Instagram earlier this week) is another recent
purchase from Loft and was on super sale.  I loved pairing it with this neon
striped tee (yes, I bought the same tee in like 5 colors!) for some subtle
pattern mixing.  Overall this summery outfit was such an easy look and
crazy comfortable!

Boy, that weekend went by fast!  Anyone else cringing that
Monday is already here?  While I was dreaming of attending the
Southern Blog Society Brunch in Atlanta yesterday, I instead spent the
weekend catching up on laundry, a little house cleaning, and some
wedding prep for my friend Brittany.  Her wedding is this coming
weekend I'm so excited to decorate & coordinate it.  It's going
to be a wonderful wedding!  Now to plan what to wear!

This skirt is one of my new Loft finds.
We just recently got a Loft here in Lexington so I've yet to do
a lot of shopping there.  But I've been on a major search for great
skirts lately and this one quickly decided to come home with me!
Best of all, I got it on clearance for just $12!!  Such a score!

Oh, and I don't usually share funny outtake
photos with you, but this one cracked me up!
Something must have been really funny!
