I know you don't need to hear it from me to believe it, but man is Target on the money with their Fall pieces.  As I mentioned in Monday's post, I work across the street from that amazing store and I just can't run in and out to pick up a quick lunch without discovering another amazing item! Since I'm on the lookout for lots of great Fall pieces to build up the wardrobe that I deplenished on my move, I figured it was only fair of me to share some of the goodies with all of you.  Go ahead and start adding them to your cart - you can thank me later!

Vest Perfection on Opal & Violet

You guys, I think this is it.  Yes, I think this could be the perfect vest and it's from.. wait for it.. Target! Of course, it's from Target, right?!  I came across this beauty while perusing Pinterest over the weekend (all credit goes to Tara of Mix & Match Fashion for finding it!) and you'd better believe I'm hoping to score it in person today.  I'm lucky enough to work right across the street from one of the very few Targets in NYC and thankfully it is listed as in stock.  [Whew! I just got a little panicked thinking that it might not have been in stock!]  So today on my lunch break, with the 20% off coupon I've been hoarding just for an occasion such as this, I'll hopefully be purchasing this greatness. I mean, do you see the optional fur hood? Yes? Okay. You get it? Okay. I'm done! :)

I know, I know... I'm a little loooong overdue for an outfit post for you guys.  Honestly, I sold so many clothes before I moved that I feel like I've hardly had anything to wear.  While I've wanted nothing more than to just go on a crazy shopping spree for new pieces, I've been focusing on getting our apartment settled (read as: I don't want to go broke the first month I'm here!).  We're subletting a mostly furnished place, but there have been several things that we needed to pick up to make it suitable for us.  Other than finding a fabulous make-up organizer (any suggestions?!), I'm basically settled in. So for now, I'm working on remixing my closet the best I can.  While I've styled this shirt here and this blazer here, this skirt is a piece that you haven't seen before and it's actually been hanging out in my closet for several months.  It was a clearance find at Target maybe from as far back as December and I just took the tags off of it this weekend!  Thank goodness for old purchases that feel like new ones during times like these!

Speaking of shopping, did you pick up any of the Phillip Lim for Target pieces yesterday?!  I didn't get up early to head to a store or stalk the website for it to be released, but when I did finally wake up I decided to treat myself just a smidge.  The black medium satchel hadn't sold out online and, well, I really did need a new bag (No, really!  I did!) so I ordered that one for me and also the men's backpack in black for Tyler.  He's really been into the backpack trend and thought it would be the perfect accessory for traveling to and from work.  We were pretty pumped that we didn't have to get out of bed and we got free shipping! Phillip Lim ftw!

I am so incredibly sorry for the extreme lack of posts lately!!
The cold that I wrote about on Friday just really kept me from feeling
and looking my best the past week.  While there is still a touch of cold
hanging on for dear life, I'm feeling much better and am so ready to
be blogging again!  Last night I went out to the Lexington Legends
baseball game for my work "company picnic."  While I'm no
baseball fan, I really enjoyed hanging out with my work
family.  They're the best!

If you're thinking you've seen a lot
of this skirt lately... well, you're right!  This skirt has been
on major repeat and I'm not going to apologize for it.  It's so
comfy and goes with everything!  For me it was a no brainer to
wear it to the baseball game.  It was such a hot day and I simply
just don't do shorts so a cool breezy skirt was definitely the
perfect option for me.

I'm so excited to be featured today on the Southern Blog Society
page! Head over to their blog and check out which of my favorite
 recent looks they featured!

I love the flexibility of this skirt!  The first time I'd posted an outfit with it,
I went for a much more casual look using a bold, neon t-shirt (you can check out the post here). But today, I simply changed the top to a button-up and added a little sparkle in my accessories to make the skirt totally work appropriate. I really get the most use out of my wardrobe in that way. I've never been the type of person to distinguish my 'work clothes' from my 'play clothes' - with a few exceptions of course!  I love mixing and matching my wardrobe - which is something I've been working extra hard at lately as I've been trying to keep a close eye on our budget.  You'll hear more about it in a few weeks, but we have some pretty exciting things we're currently working on that have made us pinch our pennies for the time being.  I can't wait to tell you all about it!

Hey guys! So sorry for my absence the last few days!
I had a long weekend and I took road trips to both Nashville (for a
She & Him concert) and to Southern Illinois (for a wedding).  Needless
to say, I've been exhausted!  But now I'm back on my game and ready
to bring you lots of fashion greatness!  Here is a casual look that I
wore yesterday on my day off.  I typically tuck this top into a skirt
(as seen here) because it's so boxy, but yesterday was all about
being comfortable as I recovered from the weekend.

I hope your week is going great!!

First of all - please excuse the scowl on my face! The sun was super cray
and it didn't leave me much choice since I left my trusty Ray-Bans at home!
I know you've been hearing it a lot from me recently, but I'm super obsessed
with skirts right now.  I mean, I just can't get enough!  If I'm not searching online
for my next perfect one then I'm totally drooling on ones seen on other bloggers
(you should check out my friend Chioma's skirts - they're seriously amazing and
lots of them are gorgeous thrifted pieces!).  This pleated floral number (that I
showed a little teaser of on my Instagram earlier this week) is another recent
purchase from Loft and was on super sale.  I loved pairing it with this neon
striped tee (yes, I bought the same tee in like 5 colors!) for some subtle
pattern mixing.  Overall this summery outfit was such an easy look and
crazy comfortable!

Boy, that weekend went by fast!  Anyone else cringing that
Monday is already here?  While I was dreaming of attending the
Southern Blog Society Brunch in Atlanta yesterday, I instead spent the
weekend catching up on laundry, a little house cleaning, and some
wedding prep for my friend Brittany.  Her wedding is this coming
weekend I'm so excited to decorate & coordinate it.  It's going
to be a wonderful wedding!  Now to plan what to wear!

This skirt is one of my new Loft finds.
We just recently got a Loft here in Lexington so I've yet to do
a lot of shopping there.  But I've been on a major search for great
skirts lately and this one quickly decided to come home with me!
Best of all, I got it on clearance for just $12!!  Such a score!

Oh, and I don't usually share funny outtake
photos with you, but this one cracked me up!
Something must have been really funny!

I'm officially on a summer scarf kick.
I'm blaming Jayme & Mendi at Her Late Night Cravings because
Basically as soon I saw it I went on my usual everyotherday trip to Target
and scooped up this gorgeous floral scarf in their clearance section for
only 5 bucks!  Seriously!  I loved it so much I might have worn it
two days in a row.  Don't tell anyone! ;)

I'm also SUPER excited right now because I have
a new watch coming to me this week!  Yay!  You may remember
my watch post from several months ago where I was debating between
a few different beauties.  Well, I was just never able to get watch #1 out
of my head, so with a little help from my in-laws, I purchased it!  It
was just my luck that our local Macy's was out of the gold one,
but it should be delivered to me soon!  I can't wait!

I hope you all are having a wonderful week!!

Yes ladies (& gents!), the bangs are back!!
It's been a while since I've sported the full bang and I'd be lying
if I said I hadn't missed them!  I went for a haircut yesterday and decided
to jump back to this longtime favorite style of mine!  The cut was just one of
the many wedding week preparations I'm in the midst of.  Today I'm going for
my spray tan (finally some color, I know!) and tomorrow I'm going for a long
overdue mani with Megan (the fabulous bride-to-be) and all the amazing
bridesmaids!  I can hardly believe Megan's wedding is only
a few days away! She is going to be the most
incredibly beautiful bride!!

Anyone else in or attending a wedding this weekend?
I can't wait to see all the gorgeous dresses that
you all will be wearing to them!!

I've been a little extra obsessed with Target recently.
To be exact, I've visited our local stores 3 times in the last 2 days.
What's my problem?!  And what's worse (if you can say that any of
it is a bad thing!) is that I search the entire store over every single
time as if I've never stepped inside a Target, ever.  I do always seem
to find something new and awesome though!  Today's outfit is nearly
head to toe Target with my top, skirt, and sandals all being recent
finds!  I loved mixing the texture of the lace with the bold pattern of
the polka dots.  And those glitter sandals, well, how did I not
already have those?!  Thanks to Whitley from Simply Whit
in a Sequined Life for the tip that they were available!
Get them before they're gone, guys!
