Since Monday's post was more of the holiday gift guide genre, I thought today would be a great day to share an outfit with you!  I've been really loving some neutrals lately that are - surprisingly - not black!  Now, I type this while wearing black tights, black boots & a black vest - so let's not get carried away and think that this is an everyday occurrence!  But I have been making a conscious effort to break out of my comfort zone and it seems to be working!

I hope you all have a fantastic Thanksgiving tomorrow!  I'll be enjoying mine here in NYC with my hubby - and with a big giant cupcake for dessert because tomorrow is also my birthday! Yay!!

Fall Florals & [Faux] Fur

The rain sure got the best of me last week. Well, maybe not me per se, but it sure did not allow for any outfit photo sessions with Tyler.  We already have such slim windows to get them in and when the weather doesn't cooperate we're just completely out of luck.  I'm hoping to get some more shots in today so we can keep these outfit posts going as a regular thing!

I could go on for days about the fur collar I'm wearing.  It's actually from this Anthropologie vest - it just buttons on-and-off to give you 3 amazing options for your wardrobe. I've worn it all 3 ways (as just the collar, with it buttoned onto the vest, and the vest without the fur) and am truly obsessed with it each and every way.  Unfortunately it is out of stock right now, but keep an eye out on my Facebook & Twitter pages because I'll let you know if they get more in stock!

Oh and this dress. Ah, isn't it gorgeous?!  It was another love-at-first-sight moment for the two of us. I mean with that open back and rich Fall colors.. how could it be anything less than love?!  Do yourself a favor and check out this post from my Lexington friend Beth who blogs over at Seersucker & Saddles.  She's a hard act to follow but she wore this same dress recently and looked absolutely stunning!

Vest Obsessed

If you've liked my Facebook page, you'll see where I posted that I was unable to get together posts for both this past Friday and Monday.  To make up for it, my goal is 2 (yes TWO!) outfit posts this week!  I know! What's gotten into into me, right?!  Because of the pouring rain I'm seeing outside, the second post may be pushed back to Monday.  I'm just trying to keep you on your toes!

I posted a preview of this look on Instagram recently and all the buzz confirmed that I needed to shoot this look for you guys.  I'm all about the easy layers this Fall and, lately, I'm especially into topping off my looks with a fabulous vest.  I picked this one up at H&M last year and while I didn't get much use out of then, well, I'm definitely making up for lost time now.

I'll see you back here Friday with - fingers crossed - another outfit post!!

Apartment Hunting

Unfortunately, there's not much time for outfit photos in my life these days. To update you all, our bestie Ricky moved back to Kentucky a couple weeks ago (we miss you!!) and he was my go-to photographer. So basically mine and Tyler's schedules have to miraculously line up for us to have a day off together so that we can shoot outfits.  Thankfully, we had that perfect day happen yesterday and we snapped these pics while checking out an apartment on the Upper East Side. Yes, I was apartment hunting while wearing leopard print and fox fur - total coincidence but we enjoyed a good laugh from it! ha! But yes, we're trying to find the perfect place to move to in just a couple weeks and fingers crossed that yesterday's apartment was just that!  We're working on our application right now and will hopefully know something early next week!

I hope you have all had a fantastic week!!

Guys, it's officially Lucky FABB week and I am ridiculously excited!! For those of you who don't know, Lucky FABB is a conference put on by the wonderful people at Lucky magazine for fashion and beauty bloggers.  It's the perfect opportunity to learn how to be better at blogging and network with companies & other bloggers at the same time!  There are tons of amazing bloggers that I've been following for a long time now that I'm so excited to finally meet in person!  Expect to hear much more about the conference later - there will be outfit posts, recaps on speakers (Eva Mendez & Kate Bosworth are two of the big ones!), and much more!  In the mean time, here's a super casual Fall outfit from my weekend of Lucky FABB prep! Enjoy!

Hey guys!! I'm am SO EXCITED to officially debut my new blog design today! I've been working with the incredible Tiffany Kuehl for the last week to create this new branding and I am so proud of our finished product! You'll notice the new design throughout each of my social media pages and even on my new business cards that I just ordered over the weekend [I'm sure I'll Instagram them as soon as they come in]!! Ahhh!! I'm obsessed! This change was long overdue and I'm so happy that I finally pulled the trigger on it and chose Tiffany to do it!  She came super highly recommended to me from Whitley and I am so pleased to be able to say that I, too, highly recommend her!  She was so incredibly sweet, so attentive to my requests/indecisiveness, & such a hard worker! If you need a facelift for your brand, then you definitely need to check out Tiffany Kuehl Designs

Today's outfit is all about showing you my go-to Fall uniform.  You saw me wear this great Loft skirt in this post and it clearly didn't stop there. The last few weeks I've been mixing and matching the great Fall skirts and tops that I hauled here with different shoes/boots, necklaces, and scarves.  They've been the perfect pieces for the perfect Fall weather [aside from the few random 80 degree days we had a week back!] here in NYC. Oh, and outfit tip of the day: mix black and brown!  It creates such a rich look and, if you feel a little uncomfortable doing it, just add a great leopard accessory to pull both colors together.

I hope you all are having an incredible Monday!

I know you don't need to hear it from me to believe it, but man is Target on the money with their Fall pieces.  As I mentioned in Monday's post, I work across the street from that amazing store and I just can't run in and out to pick up a quick lunch without discovering another amazing item! Since I'm on the lookout for lots of great Fall pieces to build up the wardrobe that I deplenished on my move, I figured it was only fair of me to share some of the goodies with all of you.  Go ahead and start adding them to your cart - you can thank me later!

Friday's Fancies: Work Wear!

Work Wear! on Opal & Violet

 Blouse // Bag // Skirt // Pumps // Earrings

After doing a little shopping last weekend (as seen in this post), I feel like I have the work wear outfits down perfectly for the Fall weather ahead.  While none of these items are actually in my wardrobe, they completely represent the colors and styles that I'll be rocking again and again over the next few months.  Hunter green is definitely my color of the season and while I picked up a fabulous blouse in that perfect hue (seen here), I am in desperate need of a skirt in a coordinating color.  This J.Crew one would be the perfect addition!  Once paired with a pretty cream top, an oxblood bag, and my favorite neutral - leopard! - this work ensemble is complete!

Need more work attire inspiration?  Head over to Long Distance Loving to find your perfect outfit for Monday!

Friday's Fancies: Fall Wish List

Fall Wish List on Opal & Violet

Jacket // Polish // Hat // Scarf // Pants // Booties // Bag

With Fall weather in full force here in NYC, it's only appropriate that this week's Friday's Fancies theme be based around our Fall wish lists! I've been keeping a close eye on some of these items (or their more affordable versions) and dreaming of all the ways I could style them with pieces that are already in my wardrobe.  I've come to the conclusion that they are all perfect and I need to buy them all immediately.  Well, okay.. since I twisted my own arm! ;)

Check out all the other Fall Wish List posts today on Long Distance Loving!
