It's officially fall now and although I may be guilty of drinking PSLs and outfit planning with all my sweaters & scarves, I'm actually still in the transitional dressing phase here in NYC.  I went out for a yummy dinner in Long Island City with my pal Aly recently and she was so kind to snap these photos for me. She has an incredible food blog called Grassfed Kitchen which is based around a Paleo diet.  I'm always inspired when I'm on her site because the food always looks delish & her photography is so gorgeous. But back to the outfit!  I picked up this skirt from Anthro in the spring and have seriously worn it weekly ever since.  I know I'm not going to have a chance for many more bare-legged days so I'm sad thinking it's going to be temporarily retired soon (the winter dread is the realest).  One thing that will not be retired,  however, is this new necklace from Happiness Boutique!  You guys, I'm so obsessed with this beauty and literally did the outfit planning for this look in a dream.  I never do that but it happened and I'm so thrilled with how it all turned out!

In case you don't know, Happiness Boutique is an online boutique with a wealth of fashion jewelry goodness.  They're based in Germany and when they first reached out to me I was honestly super hesitant initially because I just assumed the shipping costs would be a deal-breaker for frugal shoppers like myself.  But shipping is free. I repeat, international shipping is free! Yasss! So I quickly snagged this blingy statement necklace because why not and soon welcomed it into my jewelry collection.  I'm super impressed with this company and have a mile long list of other necklaces and earrings that I want to order.  Below you'll find a few of my favorites.  You can thank me later! ;)

Friday's Fancies: Winning In White!

Putting together a look for this week's Friday's Fancies really made

me realize the lack of white in my wardrobe!  I decided that if I were to

remedy this unfortunate circumstance then I would definitely need to add

a white skinny jean to the mix.  Paired with a few brights like this lace top,

 printed gingham shoes, and bold bag give a fresh, summery feel that I

 will be dreaming of wearing this weekend!  What white items will

What do you wear to a baseball game when it finally feels like

Spring and you really don't even like baseball?  Chambray of course!

Our local minor league baseball team, the Lexington Legends, hosted 

their opening game last night and a big group of us from work went! We

dressed a large group of the staff in tuxedos and in turn we were given an

awesome suite to enjoy the game!  It was definitely a great start to my 

week!  I hope all of yours is off to an equally great start!!

The hubs and I went to Louisville yesterday on a sort-of double date

with my in-laws.  They celebrated their wedding anniversary a few weeks

ago and ours is next week, so they were kind enough to treat us all to a delicious

 dinner at Ruth's Chris.  Tyler and I ate there on our anniversary last year and it 

was just as amazing as I'd remembered.  We're thinking this is going to be a 

new tradition!  Believe me, that steak is worth the year long wait!

Although the weather has been so pretty here for the last few days, 

there has been a chill in the air that just doesn't want to leave.  So the sweet 

dress look I'd planned to wear just wasn't an option for me.  Instead, I put together 

another version of my go-to pants/top/cardi look in a combo that I've somehow 

managed not to do yet.  I really love the spearmint color with the black and white 

print!  I'll definitely be incorporating more of that color combo in future looks!

This colorful tweed skirt practically jumped into my hands

while shopping at Target last week.  I know I'm supposed to be cutting

Friday's Fancies: Bling Bling!

I have to start by saying I'm so excited about this week's bling theme 
for Friday's Fancies!  I'm a little addicted to jewelry right now and it only took about a
 second for me to decide I wanted to build a look around a fabulous statement necklace. 
 It's definitely been my go-to jewelry look lately as you can see here, here, & here.  So I might've squealed a little when I found this gorgeous reversible necklace. Yes, you read 
that right: reversible!!  I'm majorly lusting over this beauty that comes with a fantastic

This shirt has really just been a staple in my wardrobe.
You probably remember seeing it here and here - and don't expect this to be the last!
A great quality button up, especially in a classic print like a gingham or plaid, is such 
a versatile piece that everyone should own.  And probably in multiple colors! And patterns!
I am so picky about the fabric of my button up shirts which is why you'll notice that I don't have tons of them.  That is, however, totally a personal taste thing.  Find ones that speak to you and have fun pairing them with sweaters, vests, jackets.. well, just about everything!

Please excuse the crazy bright sun!  

Although I'm incredibly grateful for the mostly gorgeous weather we've been

 having, it sure makes for a difficult photo shoot!  As if it's not hard enough to get outfit 

photos taken before it gets dark outside!  Geez!  Aside from dealing with the sun, yesterday 

was a pretty great day!  After a fun day at work (which I can gladly say that's the case 

nearly every work day!), I finally got this shaggy hair dealt with!  This post is the last time 

you'll be looking at this hot mess of hair!  I'm feeling fresh and rejuvenated - isn't it crazy

 that a simple little thing like a haircut can do that for you?  Now all I need is that

 long overdue mani and I'll be all set!! ;)

I'm not usually the most energized person on 

a Thursday morning but today I've got a little extra pep in my step!  

Why?  Well, today is my last day of work for the week and tomorrow I'm headed to my

 favorite city for the weekend - NYC!  It's going to be the best little trip with my besties! 

Unfortunately Tyler can't go because of work, but the rest of us will try to have a great

time without him!  I'm hoping to have photos from the trip up on 

Monday; wish me luck!
