Review: Dr. Lipp's Original Nipple Cream for Lips

You'll know from my latest video that the sweet people over at Birchbox were kind enough to send me the Dr. Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips to review.  I have been a little crazy about cosmetics and skincare products lately, so needless to say I was pumped to try out this hyped product!

So first things first: the packaging.  I am huge on good packing, great colors and the perfect fonts. Thankfully, Dr. Lipp passed all my tests!  The tube's size is very similar to most lip products if not even a little on the larger size so nothing but positive things there.  The cap screws off and you squeeze out the product - pretty basic, yes, but that's where the product carries it over the edge.

The product is 100% natural and has many purposes.  As it's name states, it was originally intended for nursing women to ease the soreness from beastfeading.  The brand boasts that it can be used for many other purposes like diaper rash, sunburns and split ends.  For now I'm just sticking with what I know and focusing it as a lip balm, plain and simple.

Although it comes out a with a bit of a yellow tinge, the product applies clear.  It's super thick and totally moisturizing - perfect for night time use which is what I've been doing.  For the last week it's been a part of my bedtime routine.  Some nights I use a Lush Lip Scrub [in either Popcorn or Bubblegum] and follow it up with a slather of this stuff or I use it without a scrub and just let it do it's magic.  What's extra amazing is that the balm isn't sticky at all so you don't have to worry about it getting in your way of feeling like your going to bed with a sticky lipgloss on.  Each morning I wake up with a good amount of balm still on! I have no idea how I don't wipe it all off on my pillowcase overnight, but it somehow lasts.  Best of all, after a week of use, my lips are looking & feeling better than ever.

If you're interested in trying Dr. Lipps Original Nipple Balm for Lips for yourself, you can purchase it in the Birchbox Shop here. It's only $14.50 and it's currently offered with free shipping!

Thanks so much to Birchbox for sending this my way to try out & for sending a second one for the giveaway winner, Adrianne!

I'm just using the pics of the full size products today, so just keep in mind
the products I actually received were just sample sizes.

This shampoo is meant to be used weekly to revamp overworked hair.
It's full of vitamins and antioxidants so it must be good, right?!

Hot Mama is an illuminating powder that can be used on cheeks,
lids, or anywhere that needs a little hint of shimmer!  I love my Mary Lou-Manizer

love Hot Mama, too!

Apply this serum to the lash line once a day to grow longer & more
luscious lashes!   Sounds good to me!

Skinny Chic is an pick-me-up scent that gives an energy boost while
also controlling hunger cravings!  This is perfect for that afternoon slump
we all encounter.  I can't wait to try it!

This rich cream is meant to moisturize the face and fight against

After weeks on the waiting list and days of anticipation after paying
my monthly subscription, my very 1st Birchbox arrived in the mail yesterday!!
I know a lot of you out there are familiar with Birchbox but as it is still fairly new to me, I'm sure there are some of you that need the dish on this fab little box.  Birchbox is a monthly subscription company for the most amazing and perfectly chosen beauty and lifestyle samples!  You sign up, fill out a survey about yourself (your interests, hair type, skin type, etc), pay your subscription fee ($10/mo for women or $20/mo for men), and wait for your pretty little package to arrive each month.  Honestly, it felt a little like Christmas pulling it out of the mailbox yesterday!  It's the perfect way to treat yourself to fun new products each month that you might not have normally ever even known about.  The best part is if you like a product and want to buy the normal version of it, just head over to the Birchbox website and it ships free!!  Like items on their site that aren't part of the current month's picks?  Just spend $50 to receive free shipping.  And, as if this isn't fabulous enough, they offer many ways for you to earn points that go towards the purchase of the full-size products!
